EVENT PLANNING

Although Design Behind The Details, or DBTD, has only been “official” since 2004, I have been coordinating, planning and decorating events since I was a youngster. Really! Spending weekends with my grandmother, my sisters and I would accompany her to a church in downtown Tulsa to “assist” her as she set up the banquet hall for wedding receptions. I can still hear her telling us to “make sure that table skirt lays flat” and “the dinner fork goes there”. Grandmother always made sure everything was in its place. In addition to setup, grandmother was also responsible for food preparation. She was an amazing cook! Looking back, it is clear to me that she was an event planner well before the term became so popular. It wasn't until recent years that I realized the training my grandmother was providing me as a child, would prove extremely useful in my adulthood when planning, designing and decorating events for friends and family.

 

PERSONALIZED INVITATIONS

As I began to plan events, I realized that many of my clients wanted invitations that matched their occasion, that represented them more than your standard, boxed invitations and announcements. What started as simple invitations to birthday parties, quickly blossomed into elegant invitations for casual and formal weddings, retirement parties, bridal and baby showers and graduation announcements.

 

PHOTOGRAPHY

Where does photography fit in with all this? Well, I wish I could say that I've always been a photographer at heart, but in reality this is a new passion that developed only very recently. A very good friend  is an absolutely fabulous photographer. I must credit her with piquing my interest in this wonderful art form and I have fallen in love with capturing the intimacy of couples, the personalities of children and their families, the pride in graduates, the glow of brides!

 

WHO AM I? As the designer, planner, photographer and creative director I am the sole guiding force behind DBTD. I am Angela Jones. I have been in the Dallas/Ft Worth area for 20 years. My detail-oriented mind is what allows me to provide you, my future customer, with a fabulous event, beautiful portraits or personalized invitations that truly represent you!
